about the ministry and church

Worship Beats the ministry was first from in 2014 under the name of Raising Noise. It was formed by 3 founders: Janet, Anne and Kevin. The aim was to help support young Christians to learn new skills and buy equipment. The purpose of the ministry was first established long before that though.

Each of the founding members had a long history of personally sponsoring and supporting young Christians with grants and bursaries. It seemed an obvious move to come together and take a more professional approach. With the formation of the ministry, we were able to reach and help a wider number of children and young people needing support.

The church has a long tradition of supporting music and performing arts. At one time the mainstream church was a major funder of performing arts as a way to glorify God. While the mainstream church seems to have left this area of ministry many smaller churches and ministries are taking up the challenge.

Music, dance and performing arts represent the Spirit of God within us. We feel it is an essential part of a well-balanced spiritual life. We aim to help young people develop their gifts from God and to use that gift to bring other young people into a relationship with Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Worship Beats – the church

Worship Beats the church grew out of the youth ministry and is more a community than a church. When the ministry was first established we would have monthly management meetings but this quickly developed into a house church. As more people became involved in the ministry the church took shape and became a community.

This community feeling is at the heart of the church. Social events play a major part in our community and Christian lifestyle. In the early days, the church operated out of a garage and outhouses of one of our founder members.

In keeping with the aim of the original ministry, the heart of the church is for young people and children. The majority of our church resources go towards supporting and encouraging the young people of the church.

Thanks to donations, trading activities and a couple of legacy gifts the church is about to start a new future in a new building. This will be used to expand our youth ministry and also allow some of our church members to build a home school network and part-time Christian performing arts academy.

As we start to come out of Covid restrictions, the church will restart its support of young people and play its role in providing training and opportunities for young Christians to gain qualifications to find work in the performing arts sector.
